EXP25no1: Magic and eco friendly packaging

Kellogg’s is joining the green transition too. Taking responsibility not only for the production phase of their cereal boxes. But also the consumer disposal (waste and recycling).

Re-thinking their cereal boxes, producing these in reinforced and eco-friendly CMC material, instead of carton, makes the actual boxes soluble in hot water (approx.>40 degrees).

The CMC material not only saves energy (cutting costs) in the production phase, but also offers the consumers a fun and magical way to dispose of their old boxes. This while learning children about the environment and alternative eco-friendly production materials.

CMC (carboxymethylcellulose) is:

  • Eco-friendly
  • Color- and odorless
  • Allergy tested
  • Harmless to people (currently used in tooth paste, softice, eye drops etc.)

What is EXP25? The premise is fairly simple.

25 spare time experiments in ’25.

  1. Use a dice to pick a client/product, from a list of familiar consumer brands (They were handpicked by my 9 yo son, so no judging on the choices) ;0)
  2. Spend approx 4-5 hours: RESEARCH brand language (0.5 hour), INVENT a problem/task (0.5 hour), IDEATING (0.5 hour), EXECUTE an visual outcome for a new concept (image campaign, creative banner, poster, product pact shot etc)(2-3 hours).
Thereby experimenting with fresh ideas and an “unfamilar” graphic identity/languages. Breaking away from habitual thinking, yah!.
  3. Upload to site – buuum!
